I want to offer up a challenge to you that might be a fun experiment in life creation. Let me start with a story and see if you are interested in joining me in this Feel Good Experiment in 2013.
I’ve made a photograph of my vision board to illustrate this story (with my new Canon camera that’s on the board). My vision board includes an Airstream (Bambi). I’ve been holding that vision in a state of DESIRE now for more than a decade. More on Bambi in a moment.
DESIRE is a critical part of the law of attraction in my book.
DESIRE helped me make more than six figures plus in profit in real estate in the last 14 years. Note: I am not telling you that to brag but to illustrate my point.
As I expanded my boutique PR firm in 1998, I needed to commute to Portland from Eugene, OR every week in the beginning of my work with Microsoft and their PR firm in Portland.
In 1998, my husband and I bought a second home in Portland, which became our second residence. My business paid my rent so I didn’t have to stay in a hotel each week. In 2000, we bought a second condo in Portland as an investment. My theme song during this phase was from the Jefferson’s TV show – Movin On Up. This theme song gave me the feeling that anything was possible and that feeling gave me the vibration I sent out to the Universe to make it so.
We recently sold the last town home in a series of four purchases during this phase and are renting an apartment temporarily. We are currently looking for a place that matches the feelings we want to have in a home. I plan to write more about this as the process evolves.
It was during this time of my life that I experienced the FEELING of emotional and financial freedom.
I realized it was the FEELING I wanted most. It gave me the freedom to be home in my studio behind our house in Eugene (we dubbed it the world headquarters of Extraordinary Work Group) when my son came home from school. I wore jeans and sometimes pjs while I worked. My dogs were in the office. I could work around my own work rhythms instead of around someone elses work requirements.
This story illustrates my main point: It’s always the FEELING we are after when we want something.
So how did I go from being a single mom with a three and a half-year-old son and no house, no car, no job and separated from my former husband to whom I’ve become today? I knew it was up to me to get us somewhere and that a white knight was NOT going to show up to rescue us. Back in 1986, when affirmations were the thing, I started saying affirmations out loud and using Shakti Gawain’s Pink Bubble technique to manifest what I wanted. I made a list that went on the refrigerator. I put post its on my bathroom mirror. One of the most important things I did was to 1.) BELIEVE that it was possible to have this life and these things. 2.) I was willing to take action to make things happen. I have friends who remember exactly what was on that list. It all came true.
Now back to Bambi. If you look closely at my vision board, you’ll see the picture of the Airstream (a Bambi model) and the words “road trip.” Earlier this month, I practiced CALLING IN Bambi to us. I took action (a key ingredient of manifesting) and called the local Airstream dealer and made other calls to research Airstreams. You must take action to make your DESIRE happen.
Within two weeks, an Airstream dealer had our Bambi brought down from Seattle, and we bought her. What we really bought when we bought Bambi was a huge sense of adventure (excitement), location independence for my work (freedom), and more memorable (pleasure) experiences to remember. We are in the process of designing what we most want to experience in terms of feelings for 2013. I want to be conscious about what we create. This is where you come in.
How do you want to feel in 2013?
What can you do right now and in the next two months to set up experiences in 2013 that will give you the feeling you most want in your life? This doesn’t have to cost money. How do you want to feel at work, in your home (is it cluttered up with piles of things you don’t use or need), in your relationships, with your money, with your family, or in your business? You attract according to the vibration you send out.
The vibration for your DESIRE needs to reflect the excitement of having it, rather than the uncertainty of IF you’ll get it. Think of it this way, it’s only a matter of “when.”
Start with DESIRE.
What do you long and yearn to have in your life? These are questions of your soul.
DESIRE is how I manifested purchasing a condo in Portland with a large deck. I knew that I loved gardening and having outside space. I manifested a 1,000 square foot deck that overlooked a park, Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helen’s and all of downtown Portland. I did this by staring across the park (from another condo) and wanting that deck even though the developer had promised that unit to a personal friend. I DESIRED that place and my feelings were activated by imagining it was ours. The people who were to buy it backed out, and I got the call. I believe I manifested it so it was ours.
Even though I am talking about home purchases and money, what I am sharing with you is the process. This doesn’t have to cost money, you can simply decide what you want to manifest and start designing experiences that will create those feelings.
I am a co-creator of my own life experiences.
I co-create my life, my business, our home, and my husband and I curate our relationship.
List some of the things you DESIRE (want) in 2013
What feelings do you want to have in a relationship?
What feelings do you most want in your work or business?
What feelings do you want to experience with your body and health?
What feelings do you desire around spirituality?
What feelings do you desire around money?
What feelings do you want to experience at home?
Now write down how you will FEEL when you get those things you want.
Use feelings and emotions here. Here is a list of feelings when your needs are satisfied. This is a great list to start selecting feelings to generate the vibration to attract what you desire. Remember you want to feel as if it’s already happened and that your needs (DESIRES) are satisfied.
Have you used this process to manifest something in your life? I’d love to hear your experiences so others can learn how this works. Please comment below and forward to post to anyone you think would benefit from reading it.

Okay, now my desire is to make a vision board for my 2013 dreams. Thanks for the helpful prompts!
Hi Carolyn – I’m glad I inspired you to start a vision board. Another idea is to make one on Pinterest too. Start searching online magazines and pinning pictures to your board. That is what I plan to start next week. Write it down, speak it and get pictures. Feel as if you already have these things and they are on their way to you. Best!
I love the idea of the pink bubble technique and wanted to get an idea of how you used it – did you use this only once for each goal or use it regularly for the same goal until it manifested?
Hi there – I recommend to use it as often as you can and keep focusing on putting what you want in the pink bubble and releasing it. Part of the idea in releasing it is to let go of attachment of having it. The Universe doesn’t work in our linear time.
Also – you can find out more about this technique by searching for Shakti Gawain’s web site. She’s fabulous! Happy manifesting.
Thank you! I have purchased her creative visualization meditation CD and it is indeed fabulous. All the very best to you
Great! You will manifest something great this way.
